We got some lovely news with the photo opposite coming through today to let us know that young Loki-Bear (Armahani Jade Jylha) had received Best of Breed and Best Junior in Group with owner Nicole at the Culcairn P A H & I Society championship show in NSW, under judge E Knox. Loki only gets out in the ring on occasion, and Nicole is a new exhibitor, so I'm very proud that she gets out there and not only gives it a go, but comes away with a fringie for the handsome lad. There was more news from NSW, with Shell out lure coursing with the girls. This was Squiggle's (Ch & Neut Ch Armahani Diamond Dansut (AI) CCD RA JD HT ET JC FM WPD) first trial back after injury recouperation, and her daughter Slinky's (Ch Armahani Iolite Ihana (AI)) first trial ever. Both got a pass, Squiggle in CA and Slinky in JC! And with Louis officially retired from rally, it was time to get Baby (Am Ch Ch Calaban's Dirty Dancing RN ET JC (Imp USA)) out again. She had her first time off lead, in the Advanced A ring, doing nicely with a score of 94 at the Knox Obedience Club's trial under judge F Breukner, and a 3rd place.

We've been working hard at it for quite a long time, but today we hit culmination point of all that hard work, with Louis' very last rally qualification to give him his Rally Obedience Championship. As if his name wasn't a mouthful already it is now Supreme Ch & Dual Ch (RO) C'est Louis Armstrong des Chevaloupsgreg CD RAE HSAs (Imp USA). You can never quite plan when that last pass will arrive, although he has been pretty consistent this year, so I did have my hopes this would be it. But largely it is fate I think that had him earning his last at our own club grounds at Ballaarat Obedience Dog Club, on the ground her first set foot into a rally ring the judge (Y Ross) who first walked us through a course, and with the ring steward who I travelled with to our very first go at masters and who cheered me on along the way. It certainly felt right! Not only that, but he was almost perfect for the occasion, bringing his A game, and earning a fantastic score of 99. His best since competing at the masters level. So super proud of my boy! A huge congratulations to Rachael with Fleur today who earned her Herding Tested title with both quallies at the Canine Performance Association of Tasmania Herding Tests and Trials, under judges L Rowlands and K Webb. Fleur will soon be known as Ch Armahani Iolite Ilo (AI) HT. This is not only Fleur's first performance title, but Rachael's as well, so we're proud of them both moving into new and fun things to do, and I'm sure there is more ahead. Meanwhile, Fleur's mum Squiggle (Ch & Neut Ch Armahani Diamond Dansut (AI) CCD RA JD HT ET JC WPD FM was competing at the ACT State Agility Titles, and earned herself quallies toward her Novice Agility and Novice Snooker titles. Well done Shell! And Uncle-Lumi (Grand Ch Armahani Diamond Davvir (AI) CCD RA JDX ADX ET earned an Open Agility quallie. Well done Bianca! Our Armahani performance stars have been out in force again this weekend. Squiggle (Ch & Neut Ch Armahani Diamond Dansut (AI) CCD RA JD HT ET JC FM WPD) was out in the agility ring with Shell in Sydney. Over a two day trial she earned an AD (Agility Dog) quallie and a SPD (Strategic Pairs) quallie, as well as doing some fantastic (just not quite there) runs in some of her other classes. Louis (Sup Ch C'est Louis Armstrong des Chevaloupsgreg CD RAE RM HSAs (Imp USA)) was entered in Northern Obedience Dog Club's obedience and rally trial, and managed to earn two more Rally Masters quallies with scores of 95 and 94 under judges Y Ross and T Schumann. And also in Victoria, Tortik (Ch Armahani Heliodorr Halu (AI)) competed in the Hound Club of Victoria's lure coursing trial, earning his second Junior Courser pass under judges R Hassett and K Pratt, which gained him his JC title. This is Tortik and Kat's first performance title, and I'm sure not the last! Off in the show ring for a double show today. In the morning we had the young Murphy (Armahani Kunzite Komea (AI)) joining us, with handler Jackie heading into the show ring for only the second time. She did an amazing job, and we were very proud to watch her steer Murphy to his first minor puppy of breed win with competition and get a decent look for in group. She is doing an amazing job with him. It was Taija's (Ch Armahani Crystal Cuovgat) day for really shining though, firstly going Best Neuter in Group under judge I Hinde, and then following it up with Runner Up Best Neuter in Show under judge A Lane. In the afternoon, again under judge A Lane, she also took out Runner Up Best Neuter in Group. A huge congratulations to Simone today, who handled little Piper (Armahani Kunzite Kruunu (AI)) at her first Royal show in Adelaide in the baby puppy class. We were thrilled, and super proud, to hear the news that Piper was awarded best group 5 Baby Puppy of the Day under Swedish judge Mr K Nilsson! Way to go Simone and Meagan! Congratulations to Rachael with Fleur (Ch Armahani Iolite Ilo (AI)) who ventured out in Tasmania today to give a little bit of herding ago. Fleur has had a couple of lessons now, so Rachael got brave enough to try her in a herding instinct test, which she passed giving her Herding Instinct Certificate. This is a qualification to be eligible to enter official herding tests. Now that they've both had a taste of some performance sport fun, we hope there will be more achievements to brag about soon in Fleur's future. |
