Simone Dillon and I took the long outback drive to Broken Hill this weekend to enjoy some real country showing At the Silver City Kennel Club shows. While I used to do the Broken Hill shows quite regularly when I was a Mildura local, it has been a super long time, and I must say it was lovely to be back and see so many familiar faces. Both dogs had a super weekend. Tortik (Ch Armahani Heliodorr Halu (AI) RN JC) walked away with a Best in Group and Aus Bred in Group under judge M Derbyshire (NSW), and Aus Bred in Group under judge V Morrow (NSW) and a Runner Up Best in Group and Aus Bred in Group under judge M Hoy (NSW). Piper (Armahani Kunzite Kruunu (AI)) was awarded two Junior in Groups under V Morrow and M Hoy. But most importantly she ended the weekend with enough points to be have earned her Australian Championship title! Way to go Piper!!

A big congratulations to Shell, who took the young Slinky (Ch Armahani Iolite Ihana (AI) JC) for her first attempt in the herding trial today. She easily passed her instinct test and then was allowed to progress onward for her first go at her herding test, again doing very well and earning her first quallie. I understand the judge was very impressed with this special crazy girl, and we look forward to what her future holds. We ventured out to the Colac Kennel Club for their double championship show yesterday with some lovely company to be had. Very proud of Tortik (Ch Armahani Heliodorr Halu (AI) RN JC) who was BOB at both shows, and made Runner Up Best in Group at the morning show under New South Wales judge, Miss B Daines. Then today we got the fantastic news that young Leevi (Armahani Kunzite Kuutamo (AI)), much to my surprise, had been in his first rally trial with owner Nicole Wain. He did an awesome job, earning his first quallie in Rally Novice, with a 4th place at the Berwick trial. Quite a weekend for the lads! |
