Well it has been well over a year, but finally Baby (Am Ch Aus Ch CIB Calaban's Dirty Dancing RE ET JC (Imp USA)) got back into competition today. We competed at Geelong Obedience Club's rally trial, doing a double event, for Baby's first time at the Masters level, and my first in heading for five years. There has been a rule change since we last competed, with a number of new stations, so we had a bit to learn and remember, but I shouldn't have doubted that Baby would come to the table. Two very nice performances gave her a 95/100 in the first trial, and a 86/100 in the second (10 points lost from stooopid handler doing the wrong station). Across town, son Leevi (Armahani Kunzite Kuutamo (AI) CCD RE JDX SPD GD ET HT JC was competing in an agility trial, earning a Agility Dog quallie. Today we confirmed the exciting news that Piper (Ch Armahani Kunzite Kruunu (AI) JC) is expecting the pitter patter of puppy feet in late April. The sire of this litter is our home-bred boy Mika (Armahani Fireopal Fapmu). This will be a pretty special litter for me. Piper is Baby's daughter, and Mika is Emmi and Louis' grandaughter. I just can't wait to meet these babies! Congratulations to Rachael and Fleur (Ch Armahani Iolite Ilo (AI) HT) who earned the last points she needed today to earn her Neuter Championship. And boy did she do it in style, winning Best Neuter in Show twice at a double show. To add to the treat, she did it on her 5th birthday! Edited to add: on 21 March Fleur debuted as Lillian's show dog, where she assisted her earn 1st place in 7-U10 year old junior handlers. Lillian then took it a step further, handling Fleur to Best Neuter in Group. Although the tricks rules in Australia were approved in time for trials to commence in 2020, for obvious reasons, it has taken a while for the sport to be able to take off. Which has meant a bit more training time for everyone. With trials commencing in NSW this year, Squiggle, our performance super star, has very quickly been able to gain her three passes, to earn her Started title. Squiggle, now to be known as Aust Ch Neut Ch Armahani Diamond Dansut (AI) CCD RA ADX JDX SDX SPDX GD HT ET JC WPD FMCh TK.S has a lot of tricks up her sleeve, so I'm sure this is just the first of more success from her. Congratulations Shell and Squiggle. |
