Veikko was the only girl in my very very long planned diamond litter - Emmi's last litter with frozen semen to the late and fabulous Ressi. There was never any question that she would be shared between myself and Shell, from the moment of her birth. We just held our breath that she would have at least some of the qualities we were hoping for. I can't begin to descibe how thrilled we are that she has all of those, and much more!

Her co-owner Shell Gurney has been waiting almost as long as I have for this precious girl, and people must have been wondering when she was ever going to get herself a Lappie pup! A wonderful home in Sydney, living alongside the Shell's Siberian Husky Zero, Veikko is going to have a seriously exciting life, with both the show ring beckoning, as well as training in obedience, agility, flyball, tracking, and whatever else comes along!

She is a simply gorgeous little feminine girl, with a compact and balanced body, with a nice amount of substance, the prettiest head imaginable, beautifully strong and with a to die for teddy bear expression. She is just heart-meltingly adorable!

She has the perfect balance of temperament - sweet and affectionate, loving her cuddles, while being playful and crazy, perfect for training! There is no doubting she is Emmi's daughter, with plenty of fire coupled with a pretend ladylike innocence. I can't wait to see all that she achieves.

Veikko will hopefully return one day to Armahani to have puppies of her own, but that is a long way off, and in the meantime she has lots to learn, and lots of fun to have.

Veikko's dam is, of course, my beautiful import girl Emmi (Aus Ch Lumiturpa Emmi (Imp Fnl)), a rather famous girl amongst western circles in the Lappie community. She is of very successful, typey lines in Finland, is a stunning representation of her breed, and has had a lot of success in the ring here in Australia. She is a strong and confident bitch, with a real streak of naughtiness, and is hugely affectionate. Veikko is from her third and final litter.

Her sire is the late, and very very wonderful Ressi (Fin Ch & Fin Working Trail Ch Lecibsin Kultakuono) a boy who was not only very successful in the show ring, but also the first (and so far only) Lapphund to earn his Working Trail Championship in Finland, a very notable and difficult achievement requiring a seriously high level of obedience and tracking ability. We collected semen from him some time ago, and it has been a long wait for the right time to use it over our precious girl for her final litter. It was a long (and expensive) process in the end to get three healthy babies, but well worth it!

We wish Shell all the best with this very special girl, and I am sure they will do us very proud.
