Memphis was our gorgeous arrival, from the famous Sugarok Kennels in the USA. Jointly owned with Vanessa Brotto of Articmal, he arrived in Australia on 19 November 2008. He is a beautiful wolf-sable colour, quite a common colour for the breed in the rest of the world, but very rare here in Australia.

His history was an unexpected, but exciting one. Originally I had plans to import semen from his beautiful sire, Api, who was owned by the same kennel in Finland where I was already in the process of arranging semen from another of their males. When he was sold and exported to Linda, I quickly rearranged discussions. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) due to Api's age, we unable to get a successful freeze from him. Around the time I had almost given up, Linda's beautiful wolf-sable girl Zoie had a lovely litter from Api. Another long term ambition in the back of my mind had been to eventually import a wolf-sable Lappie, and it surely was fate when not only was the pick boy from Zoie's litter was the most adorable fall-in-love-in-a-second fluffy wolf-sable pup, but when Linda offered him to me.

Sadly our time with Memphis was only very short. In June 2010, at only 2 years of age, he suffered a severe seizure of unknown cause. Despite attending for urgent emergency veterinary assistance, he suffered from substantial brain damage.

We remember Memphis fondly, as a very sweet boy, who touched the hearts of all who knew him. Run free beautiful boy!
