Blaez is from my second litter. Quite the stunning boy, it was very early on in the whelping box that my eye started to be drawn to him (and no, that wasn't just because he was the only black and tan in the litter :-)). He lives with and is to be shown by Janet Thatcher of Ligerwolve German Shepherds in the ACT, and is already best friends with Janet's daugher, and lovingly babied by her female GSD Lakota. He is kept in joint ownership with us here at Armahani.
He is a very solid and masculine boy, with lovely balance and structure. He was overly full of himself in the early weeks of his life until he started to get put in place by his little delicate sister, and while still very cheeky and spunky, learnt a few more manners. He is going to have a very strong and masculine head when he is fully matured, I suspect not unlike his grandfather Kulta.
Blaez was called Thunder in the whelping box which is the English translation of his Sami name. I still can't help but think of him as "Thunder and Lightning, very very frightening" which is what I tended to affectionatly refer to himself as I would save him from his latest naughty adventure, because a devil had clearly been put aside for me!
Blaez's dam is from my first litter, and is my first home bred Australian Champion, the lovely Lahti (Aus Ch Armahani Amethyst Apina) who lives with the Field family, but who joins me in the show ring on special occasions. A delightfully cheeky girl, full of her own mother's spunk and confidence, she is a lovely mix of her dam, my import Emmi (Aus Ch Lumiturpa Emmi (Imp Fnl)) and sire, the handsome Kulta (Aus Ch Theldaroy Best Treasure CCD HT).
His sire is my co-owned import Alaska (Aus Ch Teelikementten Iikka (Imp Fnl)) who has had a very successful show career in limited campaigning since coming to Australia. Alaska is out of the world famous Multi Ch Lumiturpa Api (a half brother to Emmi's dam) who was the biggest winning Lappie of his day in Finland.
We wish Janet all the best with him in the show ring, and in their lives, and hope he does us and them very proud.
